I followed this little lizard around the perimeter of my backyard fence for about 45 minutes just hoping he would puff out his dewlap. By the time he puffed I was unsure whether he was flirting with me or mad at me. ;-)
Early morning while the dew was still heavy I found this little leatherwing (probably still asleep) on a stalk of lavender.
This is called a wheel bug due to its cog-like "wheel" on it's back. I was so pleased to find him near my veggie garden as they prey on other insects that can do damage to the veggies.
